Young India refuses to let go.

Reports are coming in on how young medicos in hundreds have taken seige of the Connnaught Place area in New Delhi and have stopped movement of all traffic.

Demanding a reply from the government on the reservation issue, they are holding hands and standing ground against water cannons being used by the police to disperse them.

Time to Act !!

It is a pity that even with so many students from all the premier institutions protesting against the proposed reservations, the government is reluctant to even re-look its proposal. This only highlights the nature of pseudo democracy that we have in India. The implications of these decisions are most of the time not immediate, but would over a period of time divide our fragile social structure into further granularity. The seeds of oppression that Mr. Arun Singh is currently sowing in the minds of the youth, would be very difficult to deal with. I think the leaders of our country should for once rise above petty vote-bank politics, and address the needs of the nation. This proposal is a totally regressive step and it should in NO way be implemented.

SMS movement in support of the meds

By Suchitra Sen (not verified) on Tue, 2006-05-16 18:48

Hello everyone,
would like to say i am really horrified by the polics lathicharge on the peaceful student protestors.
I am strongly against any reservation on caste basis and i think its has been the single most divisive policy in the social history of Independent India.slowly and surely it has spread like cancer. As a result we have inefficient incompetent men at the heads of government sectors. The truly talented ones languish hopelessly as they are overtaken by the Reservation Quota.

would suggest we start a nationwide SMS movement to show support for the striking docs and to protest the politicians dirty game for vote profits.
ya Arjun singh hai hai..
50% reservation 100% politics
