Registering as a user on SlashIndia has its benefits:

• Stories submitted by registered users have a higher likelihood to get accepted.
• Any activity by a registered user fetches him user points. The user points are visible on the lower left corner of the site when the user is logged in.

  A higher value of user's points enables a user to be considered for comment moderation privileges and occasionally we announce rewards based on user points.

• A registered user can submit his/her website as an affiliate URL while registering. This URL will be linked to from the users name for all stories submitted by the user, and will also appear in each comment made by the user. This will help drive traffic to the registered user's affiliate site.
