India boasts to have dealt with all the primary measures of preventing the further spread of the deadly H5N1 infection in Maharashtra.
However, as experinced in its eastern counterparts (includng China)
generally, human cases never surfaced untill a long time.
The reason being that the humans victims were totally unaware of the crisis and sustained the adverse effects for some time.
However, things got from bad to worse when Human to Human infection cases were noticed. Hell broke lose when entire families were found dead and the virus spread like common flu.
Researchers in India need to determine the volatility of the virus found in Nandurbar and Dhule, in order to analyse the actual severity of the situation.

There's no time for complacency.

Well this could be a conspiracy

This is what a russian MP has to say. IF you take a look at the american market most of the other similiar industries like cattle(beef/cow) and hog industry(pork/pig)are controlled by a few major industries. All the small players have been killed off. Because of economies of scale in these industries and political influence they were succesful in killing off the small players. But in the poultry industry economies of scale dont matter that much. Setting up a 25000 chicks farm is no big deal. And a major company setting up a 2lakhs farm will not be able to sell for less. SO i feel this is a whole conspiracy to kill of the chicken industry and introduce american chickens in the market and boost thier export. American and uk farms can get a full chicken ready in 20-30 dayes compared to the normal 180 days. They use steriods and growth hormones. Their chicken contain 35% more fat that normal chicken and they all have some kind of disease.

I am not the only one who believes this. go to the is link

Russian MP Calls Bird Flu “American Provocation”

Created: 21.10.2005 14:07 MSK (GMT +3), Updated: 14:07 MSK

MosNews

A deputy of the ultranationalist Liberal Democratic faction of the Russian State Duma, Aleksei Mitrofanov, has said in a parliamentary speech that bird flu was invented by Americans who wanted to dominate the world’s poultry markets.

“There is no such thing as bird flu, just as there is no AIDS, tulip or mad cow disease,” Mitrofanov was quoted as saying by the Rosbalt news agency.

“It is a provocation by Americans. They want to eliminate all chickens in Europe so that we have to import ’Bush’s legs’,” he said. “Bush’s legs” is a Russian saying for deep frozen chicken thighs massively imported from the U.S. under President George Bush Sr.

Mitrofanov suggested that the State Duma invite Agriculture Minister Aleksei Gordeyev to discuss the bird flu problem, but the initiative was not supported by his fellow parliamentarians.
