This site is a community led discussion forum and news site for issues concerning India. The site structure and operation is similar to the popular site SlashDot, which also explains the nomenclature of the site.

SlashIndia hopes to capture the trials and tribulations of India, as it treads the path to development, progress and prosperity. It seeks to highlight major obstacles, both tangible and ideological that stands on the way to this transformation of India, and highlight individuals and organizations who are leading this change from the front and also those who are holding it back.

On a slightly technical note, SlashIndia is a Drupal based site, the theme is Slash which is originally from SlashCode and has been ported to Drupal by Fredrik Jonsson.
